In the second inning, Seattle Mariners seized control of the game. A solo hit by Dominic Canzone reached right field after one out was recorded. Wisdom then capitalized on the momentum with a two-run homer that sailed just over the outfield scoreboard in left-center, clearing the bullpens beyond it against Huascar Brazoban's pitching for New York.

In the third inning, the Mets momentarily evened the score after A.J. Ewing's one-out double sailed into right field, followed by Benge's home run in right-center field on the next at-bat.

In the bottom half of the inning, the Mariners seized control with Jonah Tong (1-1) on the mound, courtesy of some sloppy Mets defense. Randy Arozarena capitalized on a two-base throwing blunder by Marcus Semien, reaching base with one out. Luke Raley's liner slipped past Mark Vientos' glove, careening down the right field line and allowing Arozarena to score easily, putting Seattle ahead 3-2.

In the top of the fourth, Seattle capitalized on some early momentum with a crucial run. A single by Pereda was followed by J.P. Crawford's intentional walk, loading the bases for Rodriguez's subsequent sacrifice fly to left-center.

With one out on the board in the fifth inning, Cole Young and Canzone got on base for Seattle, setting up a pivotal moment. That's when Pereda stepped up and hit a massive three-run home run over the Mets' bullpen wall, expanding their lead to a significant 7-2 advantage.

In the sixth inning, Benge launched a home run into right-center field.

The sixth inning got underway with Rodriguez blasting a home run to left-center against Perez in relief.

In a dismal outing, Tong surrendered five runs, including four that were earned, across five hits and two base-on-ball appearances. His strikeout total reached four batters.
