The ADUO framework allows Mercedes and Ferrari to utilize upgrade tokens for enhancing their Formula One power units.
According to Motorsport.com's confirmation, Red Bull Ford Powertrains boasts the top V6 combustion engine in F1, a fact revealed through Lewis Hamilton's comments on Ferrari receiving upgrade assistance recently.

Following the Monaco Grand Prix, a revelation emerged from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc: Red Bull's engine performance had unexpectedly surpassed the benchmark, with Mercedes and Ferrari trailing closely behind.
Mercedes' engine gap now surpasses a critical 2% benchmark, automatically securing them a single homologation token under ADUO rules, whereas Ferrari faces a more significant shortfall of over 4%, potentially earning two tokens as a result.

McLaren's rivals Audi and Honda face an uncertain future, with their prospects of assistance still shrouded in mystery, despite initial expectations of a significant gap.
McLaren's drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, will be impacted by the new regulations, which create a significant distinction between upgrading the V6 engine and effectively utilizing those upgrades in a timely manner.
McLaren's current engine performance has been a topic of discussion, with Hamilton stating that Red Bull holds the top spot, followed closely by Mercedes, while his team lags behind in this crucial area of competition. The team is now utilizing tokens to accelerate development and bridge the power deficit.
Closing the gap will require a sustained effort over several months, roughly between 8 and 10 months, which is too long for an immediate fix next week.
The ADUO concept has sparked intense debate, born from an attempt to sidestep a repeat of the Honda-dominated 2017 situation, where one supplier lagged far behind its competitors. The system's flexibility has, however, introduced a new layer of complexity and politics into the mix.
