Demi Vollering's determination shone through on that final ascent. Despite the long stretch to the finish, she pushed forward and still can't comprehend her achievement. The maglia rosa had seemed an unattainable goal with a mere two minutes' lead. Meanwhile, Vollering was battling severe leg cramps as she faced 20 kilometers of grueling terrain, praying she'd reach the finish line intact.

The team's cohesion proved pivotal, allowing for rapid progress through challenging terrain before Vollering seized momentum, propelling herself forward with unrelenting effort once she gained a significant lead over Anna.

Demi Vollering secured an impressive fourth-place finish as Italian cyclist Elisa Longo Borghini narrowly beat Niamh Fisher-Black and Niedermaier in a sprint at the final stage's conclusion yesterday.

Demi Vollering achieved a remarkable double by claiming victories in the Tour de France Femmes in 2023, as well as the Vuelta Femenina in both 2024 and 2025. Only one other female rider has successfully completed this trio of wins: Annemiek van Vleuten.
