To err on the side of caution, the Cowboys have opted against pushing Pickens in drills so far.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed enthusiasm about having George Pickens back on board. He's clearly eager to contribute, as evidenced by his own words of excitement for being part of the team. Individual drills will be within his scope.

George Pickens' participation in Cowboys' minicamp drills has been noticeably absent so far, despite signing the franchise tag on April 29, securing him $27.3 million for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, negotiations over a long-term contract remain stalled since the offseason began.

Dallas' George Pickens has yet to participate in minicamp drills, but his impressive rookie season is already etched in history. In 2025, he achieved a remarkable 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, earning him his first Pro Bowl nod. Prior to joining the Cowboys, Pickens was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2022 draft, playing three seasons there before being traded during the 2025 offseason.
