The New Mexico commission has issued initial subpoenas to 14 organizations, among them the FBI and Deutsche Bank, seeking relevant evidence. Testimony from survivors and their families is also being gathered, with many advocating for expanded probes beyond state borders.

Monday marked a significant development in New Mexico's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein as lawmakers began issuing initial subpoenas to 14 entities, requesting documentation from federal agencies, the Governor's Office, and a prominent Santa Fe research facility.

In their second gathering since establishment in February, the New Mexico Truth Commission received testimony from Rachel Benavidez, a victim of alleged abuse linked to Epstein's New Mexico estate, alongside relatives of deceased Virginia Giuffre, another survivor.

A pioneering investigative body has been set up in New Mexico, prompted by the Justice Department's disclosure of vast amounts of documents linked to Epstein, which have significantly illuminated events unfolding at his remote property near Santa Fe, a city 30 miles north.

Evidence of high-profile individuals visiting the ranch for illicit activities could expand the probe's global implications. Meanwhile, Epstein's victims are urging legislative bodies in both New York and Florida to investigate alleged misconduct at his former properties within their jurisdictions.

A bipartisan committee is scrutinizing claims of sex trafficking and illicit medical and scientific activities at the New Mexico ranch, where Jeffrey Epstein allegedly maintained influence for nearly three decades, as stated by Representative Marianna Anaya, a key figure on the panel.

New Mexico State Representative Andrea Reeb stated that the inquiry will examine agency shortcomings regarding Epstein, prior to serving individual subpoenas.

Reeb emphasized the importance of gathering relevant data from the former attorney general's office before questioning them, citing the necessity for thorough preparation in the investigation process.

New Mexico Representative Andrea Romero revealed that the Truth Commission has issued initial subpoenas to several entities, including Deutsche Bank, the FBI, and the New Mexico Department of Justice. The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office and the State Land Commission have also received subpoenas, as well as the Santa Fe Institute, a prominent scientific foundation in the state capital.

New Mexico authorities are now seeking answers from those potentially complicit in Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, with 52-year-old Benavidez among many hoping for transparency through ongoing investigations and the Truth Commission's inquiry.

A law firm has been retained by the Truth Commission to address potential civil claims from survivors. Meanwhile, New Mexico's Attorney General, Raul Torrez, recently encouraged additional survivors to cooperate with his ongoing criminal probe.

Without federal action from President Donald Trump's Justice Department, Epstein survivors now rely on state-level inquiries to hold accountable those implicated in the scandal.

Benavidez, a registered nurse, emphasizes that Jeffrey Epstein's actions suggest he had accomplices. The scope of his illicit connections spans multiple fields, including academia, science, medicine, politics, finance and government.
