The Colorado Rockies' offense was fueled by Jake McCarthy, Troy Johnston, Edouard Julien, Goodman, and Rumfield, each collecting two hits and scoring once. Their winning streak reached four out of five games, following a 9-8 triumph in the series opener on Monday. The series concludes on Wednesday.

Tomoyuki Sugano, the Rockies' right-hander with a 5-4 record, yielded two runs on five hits in his five-inning stint.

Two consecutive walks allowed the base runners to advance, setting the stage for a crucial groundout that brought in another run. A subsequent single to right field by Julien then pushed the score to 3-0.

The Rockies' offense exploded for five crucial runs, all of which came with just two outs remaining.

McCarthy followed up consecutive singles by hitting a third one deep into the outfield, scoring Kyle Karros from second base and putting Colorado ahead 4-0.

A towering 433-foot home run sailed over right field, courtesy of Castro's crushing swing, increasing their margin to 7-0.

Rumfield's high-flying shot sailed deep into right field, narrowly avoiding Adell's glove as it bounced off his head and cleared the yellow line on the wall. The umpires' review confirmed a home run, sending Rumfield all the way around to home plate, widening Colorado's lead to 8-0 and ending Rodriguez's night early.

In crucial moments, the Angels struggled to convert scoring opportunities, failing to capitalize on four of their first five chances in the early innings. However they finally broke through in the fifth, thanks to Meckler's clutch double, which reduced the Rockies' lead to an eight-run margin at 8-2.

In the last 5 1/3 innings, Sam Aldegheri held the Rockies hitless with four base knocks.
