On June 3, Alvin Kamara attended a voluntary workout with his New Orleans Saints teammates in an informal setting.

The uncertainty surrounding Alvin Kamara's future with the New Orleans Saints has been a topic of discussion as his contract enters its final year. Normally, he spends the offseason training independently in Miami before joining his teammates for the initial mandatory practices. The Saints' first required team session is scheduled for June 16-17.

Head Coach Kellen Moore confirmed Alvin Kamara's presence at the offseason training sessions on Wednesday, noting that they would follow a gradual acclimation process.

Mickey Loomis, Saints general manager, made a statement on May 18 regarding the uncertain futures of veteran players like Alvin Kamara. The team has invested in Travis Etienne, signing him to a four-year contract worth $52 million, with hopes he'll become their top running back.

Alvin Kamara's financial commitment to the Saints is substantial, bearing a $10.5 million cap hit in 2026, with only $3 million of his salary secured through guaranteed terms. His representative, Brad Cicala, confirmed that Kamara intends to play for New Orleans in 2026.

Moore expressed uncertainty about the contractual aspects on Wednesday. It's unclear if any progress has been made in that regard. However his presence during offseason training sessions was a welcome sight. Typically, Kamara isn't as involved this time of year, mirroring last season's pattern. Nevertheless, Moore appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with him and assess his current status.

Last season's games played by Kamara totaled 11, all of which were starts marred by knee and ankle injuries. His rushing average plummeted to a career low of 3.6 yards per attempt, while his total yards per game fell to an all-time low of 42.8.

Alvin Kamara has accumulated an impressive 7,250 rushing yards and 61 touchdowns, while also hauling in 606 receptions for 4,948 yards and 25 touchdowns across his 126 regular-season games, with 95 of those starts being crucial to the team's success. His standout performance earned him NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2017.

The Saints chose Kamara in the third round of their 2017 NFL draft selection process.
