WorldSBK's Balaton Park will host a change in ridership this weekend, as Lecuona takes over for the injured Alex Márquez. Meanwhile, Cal Crutchlow will step in for Johann Zarco at the same event.

Gresini Racing has secured a last-minute replacement for the injured Alex Marquez, with World Superbike rider Iker Lecuona set to ride at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

A severe crash during the Catalan Grand Prix on 17 May left Marquez unable to compete in the subsequent Mugello event, and he will also sit out the Balaton Park round.

Starting with the Qatar event in 2023, Lecuona will now make his MotoGP debut, following a stint in WorldSBK where he's achieved a notable ranking of second by 2026.

Gresini Racing has confirmed that Iker Lecuona, rider #27, will join the MotoGP grid, stepping in for Alex Marquez, rider #73, at the upcoming event on the Balaton Park circuit.

The final round before Qatar in 2023 saw Lecuona take to the track with LCR Honda, stepping in for injured rider Alex Rins on his 37th outing.

Alex Marquez's departure marked a new chapter as Luis Lecuona joined the team, commencing his premier class journey with KTM in 2016, following a four-season Moto2 tenure.

After a stint with KTM in MotoGP that spanned two years, Lecuona transitioned to Honda's WorldSBK team for the 2022 season, making this weekend's event his inaugural outing on a Ducati.

10LCR confirms Cal Crutchlow as their rider.

Cal Crutchlow will maintain his position with LCR Honda, having initially stepped in to replace Johann Zarco following an injury at Mugello's MotoGP event last weekend.

Cal Crutchlow made his return to MotoGP racing after a hiatus, competing in his first event of 2023 at the age of 40.
